I’ll base this on a true story. No, it really is true. I was staying at a friends place and he doesn’t have internet (he’s like that). Anyway, usually he has a neighbor with an open wireless network easily usable for internet access, and has been so for months. As it turned out this neighbor had finally had his geek friend over to encrypt his network properly and we were stuck with no internet. Bummer.
You have to take into account this was back in the day when the smartphones really was rocking the cradle, and nobody had personal hotspots walking around with them. All this wasn’t really a problem except for the fact we really needed to download a file from the internet. Perfectly legal I might add, why is it people always assume pirating when someone utters the word download?
